Obituary of Doris Jean Kight

Doris Jean Kight, 73, of Clarksburg, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV.

She was born in Morgantown, on October 24, 1950, a daughter of the late William and Louise Essie (Knight) McKinney.

Doris attended the Christian Evangelical Church in Birds Creek. She worked at Preston Memorial Hospital, Savage Industry, Anchor Glass, FBI, Walmart in Kingwood from the day she retired, and was a notary public. Most importantly, Doris loved her grandchildren, they were her world.

She is survived by her loving husband, Harry "Jim" Kight; son-in-law, James Conley; three stepsons, Chris Kight, Matthew Kight, and Josh McKinley; three grandchildren, Zachary, Blake, and Cecelia; and two brothers, Edgar Otto McKinney and Larry William and wife, Tina McKinney.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Conley and sister, Mary Ann McKinney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42217, Cincinnati, OH 45242.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. time of service with Pastor Robert Anderson officiating. In honor of Doris' wishes, the Field Funeral Home will entrust cremation services.
