Obituary of Ray Junior Boring
Ray Junior Boring, 88, of Masontown, WV, passed away, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Kingwood Healthcare Center.
Junior was born in Kingwood, WV on August 21, 1935, a son of the late Louis Ray and Glenna (Metheny) Boring.
Junior was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from Jack Boyles and Reliable Coal Company with 32 years of service as a coal miner and was a former member of the UMWA. Junior loved woodwork and had cut timber for many years. He enjoyed anything outside, especially gardening. Later in life Junior enjoyed traveling.
Junior is survived by three sons, Robert Boring and wife Janet of Maidsville, Patrick Boring and wife Tammy and Danny and wife Missy all of Masontown; two daughters, Mary Ann Varner and husband Vernon of Kingwood and Vanessa Rossetti and husband Tim of Arthurdale; 15 grandchildren, Aaron and Amy Varner, Matthew and Danielle Varner, Kristen and Wayne Park, Ryan and Sally Boring, Patrick Boring Jr. and Missy Groves, Jonnie and Michelle Boring, Christopher Boring, Chad Boring, Hannah Boring and Cameron Sargent, Cortney and Matt Stuchell, Ashley and Ethan Calvert, Dominic DeBardi, Jade Rossetti, Nico Rossetti and Deserai and Robert Smith; 20 great grandchildren, Morgan, Mason and Maverick Varner, Lexie and Hadley Varner, Coal, Reese and Paige Park, Royce, Louella and Lincoln Boring, Brandon Boring, Shayleigh and Landon Boring, Allisyn Cramer, Clay and Savanna Calvert, Braylenn and Brantley Sargent, and Emmett Stuchell; a brother, Roger Boring and wife Peggy of Marietta, OH; and three sisters, Carolyn Greathouse and Judy Radabaugh, both of Morgantown and Kathy Garrett of Masontown and a sister-in-law, Helen Boring of Buckhannon.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years and mother of his five children, Mary Elizabeth Boring, in 1994; his second wife of 21 years, Donna JoAnn Boring in 2017; grandson, Gregory Boring; great granddaughter, Aubree Boring; brother, Richard Boring and son-in-law, Ralph DeBardi.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 2 to 6 pm. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from 11 am until the 12 pm time of service with Rev. William Winston officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
To celebrate Junior's life the family would like to extend an invitation for food and fellowship, following the committal service, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
