Obituary of Billy Kisner

Billy Harold Kisner, Sr., age 79, of Arthurdale passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born in Terra Alta, WV on September 20, 1931, a son of the late Walter and Myrtle Kisner. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He owned and operated Kisner Trucking for many years as well as driving for several area trucking companies. In later years he was employed by Ampco Parking from which he retired. He enjoyed camping at Big Bear Lake with his family. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edith Shaw Kisner; five sons and spouses; Bill and Brenda Kisner of Arthurdale, Rodney "Gig" and Sandy Kisner of Reedsville; Tim "Slimey" and Debbie Kisner of Reedsville, Scott Kisner of Masontown, and Marty and Tammy Kisner of Arthurdale; one daughter, Denise Kisner and companion Tapha Liston of Morgantown; five brothers and spouses, Richard and Pauline Kisner of Morgantown, Larry and Renee Kisner of Morgantown, John and Betty Kisner of Morgantown, Bobby Kisner of NJ, and Jimmy Kisner of FL; two sisters, Amy Wright of Morgantown and Patty Poling of Morgantown; 13 Grandchildren;16 Great grandchildren; and his two dogs Molly and Max. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Prentiss Kisner and Donald Kisner; and four sisters Wilma, Maxine, Mary, and Dorothy. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Tuesday January 11, 2011 from 4 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday January 12, 2011 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Winston officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Church Building Fund, c/o Debbie Whipkey, 451 Doug Hill Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508. Cremation services will follow.
