Notes: David J. Kitzmiller, 65, of Masontown died Wednesday April 11, 2007 at his home.
He was born February 23, 1942, in Blaine, WV, a son of the late Mark E. and Margaret Froggatt Kitzmiller.
He served in the United States Marine Corp. and was employed as a over the road truck driver, and as a WVU Police Officer for 18 years. He was a member of the Masontown VFW Post 1589.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but mostly taking drives with his dog and faithful companion, Missy.
He is survived by four daughters and spouses, Christine Festa of Masontown, Cindy and J.D. Shaffer of Reedsville, Georgette and Phill Butler of Vivian, LA, and Shamron Kitzmiller of Orlando, FL; two sons, Michael Artel of Chicago, IL, and Lee Luzader and wife, Donna of Shinnston, WV; 11 grandchildren Ryan Festa, Nathan and Ashley Savage, Ashley White, Tyler Daft, David and Marc Riley, Justin and Megan Butler, Delaney and Anna Shae Luzader; sister and spouse, Elizabeth and John Farris of Terra Alta, nieces and nephews, Bob and Diane Farris and Jim Farris all of Great CaCapon, Sherry Murphy of Lothiam, MD, Todd Deahl of Terra Alta.
Friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. David Spence officiating. Cremation services to follow.
Military rites will be conducted by the Masontown VFW Post 1589 and the Preston County VFW Honor Guard.
