Obituary of James Lamar

James Richard LaMar Sr, 65, of Masontown, WV, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born December 9, 1943, in Morgantown, WV, the son of the late Hubert and Hazel LaMar. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and brother-in-law. He was loved by anyone who knew him, and was a true friend to many. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, raising animals, hunting, and time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family gatherings. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia “Cookie” Goff LaMar, of Masontown; three sons, John LaMar and wife Peggy, Charles “Rick” LaMar and wife Dorsey, all of Masontown, Roger LaMar and wife Tammy of Morgantown; two daughters, Connie LaMar of Masontown, and Chasidy Bolyard and husband Brad of Reedsville; two brothers, Darrell LaMar and Hubert Lamar Jr of Grafton; two sisters, Patricia Doman of Grafton, and Betty Miller of Moundsville; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Nellie LaMar, and his two “SISTERS”, Helen Nice and Bonnie Wilt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James “Jimmy” LaMar Jr on July 25, 2009, one brother Arthur LaMar, one sister Rita LaMar, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Atha Goff. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday August 9, 2009 from 3-5 and 7 -9 p.m. and on Monday August 10, 2009 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday August 11, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating.
