Obituary of James Polce
James Polce, age 70, of Masontown, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Preston County, on May 6, 1939, a son of the late Americo and Anna Lawrence Polce.
He was a loving husband and father and was a member of St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown. He was a coal miner for 22 years, owned and operated his own trucking business for 28 years, and was a partner in the Franklin Polce Coal Co.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice "Cookie" Shaw Polce; one daughter, Jackie Butcher and Husband Jon of Brunswick, GA; one son, Timothy W. Polce of Morgantown; one sister, Tina Burgoyne and husband Robert of Newburg, and a special nephew, Guido Polce and wife Trish of Masontown.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Franklin Polce and Robert Polce
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday May 1, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Sunday May 2, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with the scripture prayer service being held at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday May 3, 2010 at St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown with Very Rev. Fr. Mark E. Ward, CP, VF as celebrant. Interment will follow at Masontown Cemetery.
