Obituary of Dorothy Born

Dorothy Catherine Born, 85, of Reedsville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 27, 1926, in Carmichaels, PA, the daughter of the late Thomas Kenneth and Ruth Gene (McMinn) Sloneker. She was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School and Morgantown Business College. She worked as a secretary for the WVU Extension Service in Kingwood for 17 years and retired in 1988. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and the Preston County Senior Citizens of Valley District. She is survived by one daughter in law, Helen Born of Reedsville; two granddaughters, Jennifer Born and Denise Howdershelt and husband Justin; one great grandson, Brody Born; and one great granddaughter, Kirsten Born. She was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Cay Born and her daughter, Judy Suzanne Born. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Friends may call at Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 2 - 4 pm & 6 - 8 pm. Services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2011 at Field Funeral Home with Rev.
