Obituary of Jacob Born

Jacob C. Born, 63, of Reedsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. He was born on June 23, 1947 in Morgantown, the son of Dorothy C. Sloneker Born of Reedsville and the late Jacob Born. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He was a coal miner at Double H Mining and previously worked at Born’s Exxon Station in Reedsville. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He loved his Chevy vehicles, but most of all, he loved and adored his kids and grandkids. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Helen Born; two daughters Jennifer Born, and Denise Howdershelt and husband Justin; a grandson, Brody Born and a granddaughter, Kirsten Born. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Born, and several aunts and uncles. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home, Masontown, WV on Thursday, May 19 from 2 - 4 pm & 6 - 8 pm and on Friday, May 20 from 2 - 4 pm & 6 - 8 pm. Services will be at the funeral home at 11 am on Saturday, May 21. Interment will follow at the Masontown Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.
