Zion Cemetery Notes: Willie Ray Taylor, Sr., age 72, of Masontown, WV, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown surrounded by his loving family. He was born, October 23, 1934, in Masontown, WV, a son of the late Goff Ervin Taylor and Stella Temperence Mayfield Taylor. He worked for Mercury Coal and Coke for 14 years and other area coal mines and coal preparation plants. He liked working with wood and socializing with friends. He never met a stranger and was liked by all. He is survived by his wife, Delores Johnson Taylor, and three children, Kathy Jo Stockett and companion, John Allen Cosner of Deep Creek Lake, MD, Cindy Lou Taylor of Masontown and Lloyd John Taylor of Masontown; three grandsons; Thomas Thorne of Masontown, Brandon Rehe and companion, Amanda Pase of Masontown, and Travis Stalnaker of Clarksburg, WV; two brother in-laws, Robert Johnson and spouse, Joyce of Masontown and Jack Johnson of Masontown; three brothers, Roscoe Taylor of Masontown, Leland and wife Lois of Morgantown, and Prentiss and wife Judy of Masontown; two sisters, Janet Cobb of MI and Dottie Deahl of Reedsville; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Lee Taylor and Willie “Bub” Taylor, Jr.; two brothers, Clifford and Richard Taylor; three sisters, Florence Smith, Juanita Taylor and Genevieve Taylor. Friends will be received at the Field funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, February 25, 2007 from 5 to 9 p.m. Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Hagedorn officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown .
