Notes: James Edwin Babe Wolfe, 88, of Independence (Gladesville), passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at home, following a short illness..
He was born December 3, 1918, in Newburg, WV, a son of the late William Herbert and Albertha Rosier Wolfe.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mr. Wolfe was a lifetime cattleman. He dealt in beef stock and was a full time farmer in West Virginia. He was also a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Gladesville.
He is survived by his bride of 67 years, Ruth Louise Powers Wolfe; two daughters, Jo Ann Turner and husband, Ralph of Independence (Gladesville) and Patricia Sweeney of Salem, Ohio; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren
Mr. Wolfe was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Albertha Wolfe and Sarah Jane Bebout; five sisters and one brother.
Friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday, September 22, 2007 from 4 to 8 pm. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2007 at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Hagedorn and Pastor Marty Turner officiating. Burial will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery in Gladesville, WV.
