As I said on Facebook, when Linda announced Warren's death, he was a favorite uncle of whom I have long memories -- the earliest being when he and Jessie were married and there was a "chivaree" (is that how you spell it?) for them at the house in Manheim. Then there was the World War II connection, when Jessie lived with us while Warren was fighting in Europe. And, of course, many happy visits to them in Arthurdale. I remember we were helping him install a screen door on a very hot day and I was hinting for a beer, when my Dad quietly told me Warren was a teetotaler. I remember Warren's hearty laugh and his kindness. He had a remarkable life -- and I think he enjoyed (almost) every minute of it.

My brother, Butch, and I extend to each of you our sincerest condolence in the passing of Mr. Kelly. We both have fond memories of him both as a teacher at Masontown and as a member of the Methodist Church. We remember him participating in the Christmas program each year as a shepard as we sang with the youth group.

I was Dr. Kelly's secretary in 1976 in the WVU Agricultural Education Department. He was the most kind and patient man I have ever known. He knew this was my first job and he gave me so much encouragement. I will never forget him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Dear Linda,Peggy,Larry,Marcia,& John, We are so sorry for the loss of your dad. What a wonderful example of husband,father,grandfather,great-grandfather and SERVANT he was! A servant 1st to our Lord, our country, and his family. The example he set was seen and learned by countless more than just his family!! He and your mother will always hold a special place in my heart. How I cherish the time I had with them! The love that they had for each other and their family was an inspiration to all that knew them, and because of the love that they instilled in each of you, they will always be with you all. Please know that I love each of you and if at all possible I would have been with you today. I am with you in spirit and prayer. Love, Deb and Gary and boys

I am very saddened to learn about the passing of Mr. Kelly. My condolences to his wonderful family. Mr Kelly was an important mentor to me and my family as we built our farming business in Masontown.I always looked forward to my visits to Masontown and especially the Methodist church where I could always expect to see Mr Kelly his lovely wife Jessie and members of his family. His passing ends a generation of another WWII veteran and a great educator that was so important to many in Masontown , West Virginia and beyond. My prayers go out to his fammily.

We share fond memories of our days at WVU, and the Agriculture Education Dept. Dr Kelly was our Advisor, but more than that, he was a counselor and friend. He gave us wisdom and guidance not found in textbooks and classrooms. A very special mentor & friend in our lives. May you have many precious memories, and may God richly bless you.

May God go with your family in this time of sorrow as your father enters into his final reward. The Mansion that Jesus said he would go to prepare is now occupied by both your Mom and Dad. Please find comfort in these thoughts and promises. Our prayers are with you.
