Obituary of Glenna Burge

Glenna J. (Witt) Burge, 82, of Masontown passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Glenna (Nana) fought cancer bravely since 2001. She was born April 12, 1930, the daughter of the late Georgia (Spangler) Menear and stepdaughter of the late Dewey Menear. Glenna was a member of the Masontown United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and attending Bible study. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and simply giving so much to her family, friends and community. Nana is survived by her husband of 59 years, Howard D. Burge; two sons, Don Witt and wife Beth and Ron Witt and wife Susie all of Masontown; three grandchildren, Josh Witt, Tracy Wolfe and husband Jimmy and Stephanie Witt and husband Jason; five great grandchildren, Emily and Elizabeth Witt, Rachel and Amanda Wolfe and Whitley Shepherd; one great great granddaughter, Aulbree Heard and a very special friend, Rita McCrobie. In honoring Glenna's wishes she will be cremated and there will be no memorial service.
