Obituary of Leonard Everett
Leonard Matthew Everett, 78, of Masontown, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born November 13, 1934 in Greene Co. Mississippi, a son of the late William M. and Lila (Churchwell) Everett.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked for Preston Co. Light and Power Company and for Humphrey #7 CONSOL Coal Company. He enjoyed fishing, WVU sports and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Sturgiss United Methodist Church and the United Mine Workers of America.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Julia (Cale) Everett; two sons, Jeffrey Lynn Everett and fiancée Rhonda Moore of Fairmont and Howard Mark Everett and wife Dr. Amy Everett of Morgantown; two daughters, Toni Rae Burbridge and husband Stephen of Bruceton Mills and Lisa Ann Nassabeh and former son-in-law Tony of Cross Lanes, ; 10 grandchildren; Drs. Jennifer Howell and husband Stephen, of Morgantown, Dr. Rebecca Burbridge and Mindy Hamilton, of Durham, NC, Jason Everett and wife Tressa of Palm City, FL, Tyler Everett and wife Brenda of Maidsville, Erin Everett of Lawrence, PA, Justin Everett, Alex Everett, Taylor Everett all of Morgantown, Mikayla Nassabeh and Sydney Nassabeh of Cross Lanes, six great grandchildren; Emma Howell, Adam Howell, Brynn Bouchard, Brody Everett, Blake Everett, and Taegen Everett; one sister, Margaret Green of MS and special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry and Biddie Phillips of Morgantown.
He was preceded in death by one sister Lottie Green, six brothers: Walter Everett, Winfored Everett, Freddie Everett, Floyd Everett, Houston Everett and James Everett.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. James Weber and Rev. William Winston officiating. Interment will follow in the Masontown Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his hospice caregivers; Shelly, Debbie, Regina, Kayla, Amy and Jerome and special friend Eric Belldina.
