Obituary of Betty Huggins
Betty Lee Huggins, 89, of Masontown, passed away April 29, 2013 at the home of her daughter.
She was born in Tunnelton on December 31, 1923, a daughter of the late John Sylvia and Freda P. (Shaffer) Sylvia.
Betty was employed at Ballard Aircraft in Arthurdale during World War II, Morgan Shirt Factory, Grafton Clothing and Apparel and she worked at West Virginia University until she retired.
Betty dearly loved preparing meals for her family and friends. She was a wonderful seamstress and homemaker. Because of Betty's vibrant personality and close interaction with family she will be truly missed. She was a member of the Masontown Cinderella Club and the Buckwheat Stompers Square Dance Group of Kingwood.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith K. Fields and husband Robert A. of Masontown; two grandchildren, Robin R. Malcolm and husband Joseph M. Jr. of Masontown and Bradley L. Fields and wife Pamela of Morgantown; two great grandchildren, Emily A. Fields and Noah T. Fields; a sister, Ella Jean Moore and husband Joseph of Ravenswood and their family, and a nephew, Larry B. Groves and wife Judy of Napoleon, OH.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Mary I. Groves and a very special friend, Donald Davis.
Family and friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 1 pm. Burial will follow at the Masontown Cemetery.
Mrs. Huggins's family wishes to extend a special "Thank you" to Hospice Care, Shelly Stiles, Kayla Hess, Dena Larew and Phyllis Echard for their compassionate care. Many thanks to neighbor Dessie Snyder for her loving care.
