Obituary of Garnett Myers

Garnett Hitchcock Hoffman Myers, 86, of Moorefield, WV, passed into Glory on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was born December 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Claude May Hitchcock and Elizabeth Howell Hitchcock. Before moving to Moorefield, Mrs. Myers attended Pleasant Grove Baptist church. She was a faithful servant of God and a blessing to those who knew her. Mrs. Myers is survived by her children; Robert Arthur Hoffman and wife Joan of Bealeton, VA, Peggy Hoffman Cooper and husband Gary of Forest, VA, Stephen Richard Hoffman and wife Barbara of Amherst, VA, David Nelson Hoffman and wife Nipa of Baskerville, VA and Deborah Hoffman Metheny and husband Edward of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Ida Hitchcock Taylor and husband Claude of Masontown;16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; her loving stepchildren; Don Myers and wife Vivian of Charlotte, NC, Kathy Myers Gabbard and husband Len of Lapee, MI, Ray Myers and wife Athena of Newark, TX, Frances Myers Detmer and husband Richard of Autrain, MI and Tim Myers and wife Carol of Auburn Hills, TX. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. "Pete" Myers; former husband, Robert Glen Hoffman; and three sons; Bruce Hamilton Hoffman, William Edward Hoffman and Larry Allen Hoffman. Friends may call at Field Funeral Home 10537 Veterans Memorial Highway Masontown, WV on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Field Funeral Home on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Joe Lamm officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
