Obituary of Betty Reed
Betty May Reed, 86, of Reedsville, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at her home.
She was born in Warren, PA, on May 17, 1927, a daughter of the late James and Beatrice (Abrams) Hall.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her children feel truly blessed to have had her love and nurturing as their mother.
She graduated from Valley Sr. High School in Masontown. During WWII, she assembled radios for the war effort. She was a loyal fan and loved WVU football. Betty enjoyed writing poems and was honored with having some of them published.
She is survived by her four sons; Larry Reed, of Reedsville; Benjamin Joseph Reed and wife Mary, of Brookhaven; Michael Dale Reed, of Fairmont; Steve Wayne Reed, of Reedsville; a grandson; Benjamin Reed; two sisters, Marlene Rohr and Joanne Boring both of Masontown and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Reed; a daughter, Sherry Reed; and two brothers, Richard "Sonny" Hall and James Abe Hall.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown.
