Obituary of Mary Biondi

Mary Jo (Marshok) Biondi, 93, of Masontown, WV, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, OH. She was born May 14, 1920, the youngest child of Andrew and Antoinette Mikrut Marshok of Irish Ridge near Howesville. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She retired from Hill's Department Store. Mary was a member of St. Zita Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a 60+ year member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #1589. She enjoyed working with her hands, knitting and sewing and tending her plants. She loved animals and taking care of her Sami and Destiny. Mary is survived by two daughters, Paula Forman and husband Roy with whom she resided with in Williamstown, WV and Cindy Bernhart and husband Dick of Morgantown; six grandchildren, Joseph Forman and wife Sara, Shara Forman, Janeal Bernhart, Jamison Bernhart and wife Cassie, John Bernhart and Joy Bernhart and one great granddaughter, Cameron Forman whom she cherished. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Attilio Biondi; a daughter, Barbara Jo Biondi Knotts; an infant son, Joseph Biondi; her brothers and sisters, Andrew, Helen, John and Edward Marshok, Blanche Bern, Kathryn Ingland and Sophia Frum. Donations in Mary's memory can be to the Humane Society, St. Zita Altar and Rosary Society or Gospel for Asia. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Marietta Memorial Hospital staff and Hospice Care Corp. for the wonderful care she received. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a scripture prayer service and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary service at 8 p.m.. A Catholic funeral service will be held at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Bufogle as celebrant.
