Obituary of Marie Gibson
Marie Jean Gibson, 86, of Masontown, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born in Masontown on August 15, 1927, a daughter of the late Ruth Ethel (Lambert) and James Logan Taylor.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marie was a member Masontown United Methodist Church, Masontown VFW Post #1589 Ladies Auxiliary and the Masontown VFD Ladies Auxiliary. Marie truly enjoyed spending time with the Ladies Auxiliary and playing bingo.
She is survived by three sons, Roy L. Gibson, Jr., of Masontown, Harold L. Gibson, of Masontown and Willard R. Gibson, of Alexandria, LA; two step sons, Edward L. Gibson, of Masontown and Clyde W. Gibson, of Kingwood; a step daughter, Betty M. Gibson, of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two sisters, Edna B. Blaney and Lois D. Taylor.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy L. Gibson, Sr.; five brothers, Lawrence E. Taylor, James A. Taylor, Oscar H. Taylor, Olaf Taylor and Orian "Joe" Taylor.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 6 - 9 p.m. with the Masontown VFW Post #1589 Ladies Auxiliary service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Field Funeral Home in Masontown, on Sunday April 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow at the Masontown Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Marie's memory to Hospice Care Corp., PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
