Obituary of Darrell Stevenson
Darrell "Hot Rod" Franklin Stevenson, Jr., 28, of Tunnelton, arrived at his final destination Tuesday, July 8, 2014 , carried upon the wings of angels. Our earthly sadness has become his eternal joy.
He was born May 23, 1986 in Morgantown, WV, a son of Darrell F. Stevenson, Sr. and Gloria J. Hess Stevenson of Tunnelton.
He was a devoted father, a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a hard worker, with his hands to prove it. Before his brief illness, he was employed by his parents at Hilltop Recycling. One of his favorite jobs was being an over the road truck driver, especially when it took him out west. He was never without his ornery grin or funny story to tell. He loved to sing karaoke with his parents and one of his favorites was Alan Jackson's "Good Times". While courageously fighting his disease, he became a born again Christian, which will allow him to be our "Bear in the air".
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancée, Megan Solt. His world revolved around his children, Chelsea Stevenson, Cameron Poling and his bonus son from Megan, Jayden Dalton. He is also survived by his grandparents, Linda Stevenson and Robert and Delores Hess; aunts and uncles, Sonynita and Jim Fitchett, Leyanita and Randy Yost, Vanitalyn and Bill Harrison, Robert and Starla Hess, Bill and Debbie Hess, James Hess and Karen Smith; numerous great aunts, great uncles and countless cousins.
Darrell was preceded in death by his brother, Justin Stevenson; "Pap", Jennings "Frank" Stevenson, his uncle, Steve Hess and his great grandparents.
