Obituary of Doris Hibbs
Doris Jean Elliott Davis Hibbs, 85, of Kingwood, formerly of Masontown, passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, November 14, 2014.
She was born on October 19, 1929, in Preston County, a daughter of the late Charles Graham Elliott and Cecile Louise Robey.
Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a graduate of the Morgantown Business College. Doris retired in 1977 from the WVU Sociology Department as the office manager. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Masontown, the Baptist Women's Missionary, Habitat for Humanity, Country Homemakers and was very active in the Valley District Senior Center. She enjoyed music, sewing, crafts, baking, gardening, walking and watching the Mountaineers play football and basketball on television.
Doris is survived by her two daughters, Janet Fields and husband Jim of Kingwood and Debbie Hart and husband Ron of Belmont, OH; four grandsons, Justin Jackson and wife Alisa of Morgantown, Jarred Jackson of Wheeling, Joshua Fields and wife Jennifer of Kingwood and Jeremy Jackson of St. Clairsville, OH; three great grandsons, Jaecob and William Fields and Shane Jackson; two brothers, Joseph Elliott and wife Polly of Kingwood and Charles (Butch) Elliott and wife Nelly of Las Vegas, NV and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her step mother, Opal Elliott and her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Lloyd Nuce.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, November 17, 2014 from noon until the 1 p.m. service time with Rev. William Winston officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Masontown.
