Obituary of Burdis Dalton

Burdis William “Johnny” Dalton, 82, of Old Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, passed away at his home on January 2, 2008 with his family by his side. He was born on February 14, 1926 in Morgantown, the son of the late Odie Dalton, who passed away in 1926. He is survived by 2 daughters, Betty Shaw and companion David Hilling and Joann and spouse Charles “Buster” Dalton; 2 sons, Bill and spouse Ruby Dalton, and Randy “Bimbo” Dalton and companion Phoebe Riffle; eight grandchildren, Davy Dalton, Gary Lee White, Allen Dalton, Sarah Dalton, Ralphie Dalton, Andy White, Brandy White, Annie Dalton, and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Delores Dalton, to whom he loved and was married to for 48 years, one son, Douglas Dalton in 1956, one daughter, Deloris White in 1995, one grandson, Tyler Shaw in 1971, and 1 granddaughter, Amanda Shaw in 1973. Johnny was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of the Local cement union for 10 years and operated his own concrete finishing business for over 30 years. He was a avid coon hunter and enjoyed farming and gardening. Friends may call at the Word of Life Tabernacle on the corner of the McKinney Cave Road and Summer School Road in Morgantown on Sunday January 4, 2009 from 2 p.m. until the 1 p.m. service time on Monday January 5, 2009 with the Rev. Elmer Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on the Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, WV. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.fieldfuneralhome.com.
