Obituary of Ruth Lovett

Ruth Ann (Icenhower) Lovett, 96, of Arthurdale, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Heartland of Preston County in Kingwood. She was born in Mason, WV on April 10, 1919, a daughter of the late Frederick and Georgia (Martin) Icenhower. Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother. A member of the Phi Mu Sorority, she graduated from WVU in 1940 with a Bachelor's Degree in English. Ruth taught school in Preston County for many years, where she touched the lives of countless children. She retired in 1979. Ruth was also a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Arthurdale. She is survived by a daughter, Ann Robb of Terra Alta; a son, John Kimble Lovett and wife Billie of Arthurdale; a grandson, Benjamin Robb and wife Heather of Sykesville, MD. Ruth was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. To honor her wishes, Field Funeral Home will provide cremation services. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Arthurdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ruth's memory to the Preston County Animal Shelter, 278 Poor Farm Road, Kingwood, WV 26537.
