Obituary of Gerald Wayne Sypolt

Gerald "Jerry" "Badger" Wayne Sypolt, Sr., 58, of Reedsville passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015. He was born in Rodemer in Preston County, WV, on August 13, 1957, a son of James T. Sypolt of Masontown and the late Marjorie "Patty" (Calhoun) Sypolt. Jerry was a truck driver for over 40 years. Most recently and at the time of his death for Grant County Mulch in Hazelton. Jerry was known as "Badger" on the CB by his friends and co-workers. He was an avid Nascar fan and Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. was his favorite drivers. He loved spending time watching his beloved Mountaineers and spending time with his children and granddaughter. Jerry is survived by his wife, Gloria Sypolt of Reedsville; a son, Gerald Sypolt Jr. of Reedsville; three daughters, Mindy and husband Matt Trenum of Independence, Kelly and husband Artie Cobb of Masontown and Kimi and husband John Chambers of Grafton; a granddaughter, Alisha Sypolt of Independence; six brothers, James M. Sypolt and wife Becky of Kingwood, Larry D. Sypolt of Masontown, Joseph Sypolt of Masontown, Jeffrey T. Sypolt and wife Joyce of Morgantown, John H. Sypolt and companion Cheryl Cummings of Masontown and Kevin L. Sypolt and companion Suzy Keener of Kingwood; three sisters, Sheila M. and husband Klet Larew of Newburg, Joyce and husband Jeff Marshall of Morgantown and Donna J. Hawk and husband Ken of Casa Grande, AZ; a half brother, Don Calhoun of Terra Alta and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Field Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 4-8p.m. and on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service time with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating.
