Obituary of Melvin Mayne
Melvin Mayne, 80, of Arthurdale, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Kingwood.
Melvin was born in Rowlesburg, on February 28, 1936, a son of the late William and Clara (Patterson) Mayne.
He was retired from Sterling Faucet and the U.S. Army Reserves.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lucy Liston Mayne; three daughters, Kitty Shillingburg and husband Steve, Tracy Casteel and husband Kevin and Debbie Kisner and husband Tim; two sons, Paul Mayne and John Mayne and wife Debbie; nine grandchildren, Emily, Eugene, Abigail, Travis, Jonathan, Tabitha, Morgan, Erin and Tammy; one sister, Annie Mayne; two brothers, John Mayne and Joe Mayne; many sisters in law, brothers in law, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Bulford Mayne; a granddaughter, Madeline; four sisters, Dorothy Mayne Westley, Mary Mayne Fisher, Marguerite Mayne Parrish and an infant sister and five brothers, Harvey Mayne, Walter Mayne, Jim Mayne, Archie Mayne and Luther Mayne.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday January 16, 2017 at the Arthurdale Cemetery with Rev. Ron Funk and Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.
