Obituary of Elsie Laverne Kennedy

Elsie Laverne Kennedy, 73, of Nicholson Loop, Morgantown, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at her home.

She was born on March 21, 1944, a daughter of the late Forrest Wayne McDonald and the late Daisy (Murray) McDonald.

She worked at the pajama factory in Sabraton. She loved to travel and play Bingo.

Elsie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Warren Kennedy, a daughter, Tammy Holmes and husband, Ronald of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Kayla Brown and husband, Dustin of Morgantown, Hunter Kennedy and fiancé, Katie of Morgantown and Sidney Kennedy of Bruceton Mills; a sister, Wilma Burns of Morgantown; a brother, Mindel McDonald and wife, Hope of Nicholson Loop, Morgantown and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Kennedy and an infant brother.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Monday, February 5, 2018, from 2 - 8 pm and on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 11 am until the 1 pm service time at the Burns Chapel United Methodist Church on the Summer School Road, Morgantown, with Pastor Lynda Masters officiating. Interment will be in Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
