Obituary of Edwin Ferrell
Edwin Eugene Gene Ferrell, 84, of Masontown passed away Saturday November 28, 2009 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born September 29, 1925 in Morgantown, WV, a son of Bruce and Louise Lohry Ferrell.
Gene worked for Street Motor in Masontown for over 50 years and was well known for his auto body craftsmanship. He was a 1943 graduate of Valley High School, a member of the Masontown United Methodist Church where he was superintendent of the Sunday School, Sunday School teacher, and member of the choir. He was a past member of the Masontown Fire Department, Masontown Ambulance Service, Masontown City Council, and the Boy Scouts. Gene spent many years square dancing with his beloved wife Velma.
Gene is survived by his wife of 63 years, Velma Zuccari Ferrell; one daughter and spouse, Beverly and Steve Slagle of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Matthew Slagle and wife Whitney of Fairmont and Haley Slagle of Morgantown; two great grandchildren, Kylie Ann and Paige Noelle Slaglek and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Monday November 30, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. and on Tuesday December 1, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Masontown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Starling officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Kingwood.

After the service a dinner will be held at the Street Memorial Youth Center Building in Masontown.
