Obituary of Harry A. Denkenberger
Harry A. Denkenberger, 97, of Kingwood, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Kingwood.
He was born in Kingwood, on June 12, 1922, a son of the late Edward and Angela (Gopp) Denkenberger.
Harry was a well-known and respected auto body technician. He worked for several different shops throughout his life including A&K, Marvin Ware Chevrolet, and Bishop Motors. He later accepted a position with the Preston County Board of Education as an autobody repair instructor at the Preston County Educational Center. He also enjoyed hunting and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Thompson of Martinsburg; a son, Robert Denkenberger and wife Debbie of Kingwood; two step daughters, Wanda Cooke of OH and Malinda Wilson of Arthurdale; five step sons, William C. Riley of OH, Darrell Riley and wife Diane of OH, Randy Riley and wife Tara of HI, Ronald Riley and wife Tami of OH, David Riley and wife Lisa of VA; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Merna (McMillen) Denkenberger in 2017; two sons, Thomas Matthews and Michael Steven Denkenberger; four brothers, Joseph Denkenberger, Frank Denkenberger, Benjamin Denkenberger and Edward Denkenberger; five sisters, Rosie Taylor, Tillie Post, Maggie Taylor, Marie Drainer, and Martha Snyder and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11 am with Pastor A.C. Mann officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
