So deeply saddened to learn that the world has lost Larry Cartright. He was a craftsman and a family man and the world was lucky to have him. One of my favorite memories of Larry:
One time he asked me and my brother if we wanted to go ramp hunting. I was super excited, being a boring suburbanite who had never been hunting before. I said "do we need a gun?" Well Larry had a good laugh, but he didn't tell me that ramps were little onions til we were way out in the woods digging them up. Here I thought we were looking for some kind of hog or something. While we were out there, I kept finding little piles of brown "rocks" as we walked, and curiosity got the better of me, so I bent down and picked up and handful and said, "Uncle Larry what's this?" He said, "Honey, that's shit," and gently turned my hand and dumped them on the ground.
I will remember Larry as a funny, warm, earthy, and generous man who loved his garden, his garage and his family. I always loved coming up to visit aunt Betty and uncle Larry and experiencing West Virginia summers.

Larry and I were high school classmates. While I hadn’t seen Larry for some time I remember him as a kind, maybe a little shy, high school friend. Sending prayers and sympathy to Betty and family for your loss. May the lifetime of memories you have created together give you great comfort in the days ahead.

Dear Cartwright Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Larry for many years. He was a kind, soft spoken man who was well thought of by all who knew him. Be assured such qualities also made Larry loved by our Creator and life giver. Please find comfort and hope in God’s promise, “There is going to be a resurrection”—Acts 24:15.
Can we really believe those words? Absolutely! The Bible calls God “the source of life”—Psalm 36:9. The One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died. We all look forward to seeing Larry again. I hope you find comfort in God’s promises.
