Obituary of Willard Fortney

Willard Fortney, 68, of Kingwood, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Kingwood, WV on February 27, 1942, the son of the late Gay & Kathleen Downs Fortney. He worked as a Truck Driver, a miner at Borgman Coal Co, and Allied Wood Products. He is survived by his wife, Mary Collingwood Fortney; four daughters, Lisa Fortney of Reedsville, Esther Cole of Kingwood, Marsha Gribble of Tunnelton, Donna Johnson of Tunnelton; ten sons, Terry Fortney of Baird, TX, David Fortney of Baird, TX, Charles Fortney of Masontown, WV, Bryant Fortney of Masontown, WV, Jason Fortney of Terra Alta, WV, George Collingwood of Morgantown, WV, David Collingwood of Abilene, TX, Mark McGinnis of MI, Danny McGinnis of Tunnelton, and Everett McGinnis of Tunnelton; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Fortney, a son John Collingwood, a brother Ralph Fortney, three sisters, Ellen Strahin, Mary Fortney, and Janet Fortney. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Tuesday November 16th from 6 - 9 pm.. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
