Obituary of Shawna Lynn Mitchell

Shawna Lynn Mitchell, 55, of Stonewood, passed away due to complications of COVID-19 on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the River Oaks Nursing Home in Clarksburg. She was a resident of the nursing home for 19 years after an extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg on June 18, 1965, the daughter of Robert "Bob" Mitchell and Nancy (Westfall) Mitchell of Stonewood. She was a 1984 graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School. She loved music of all kinds, collecting porcelain dolls and decorating her home. She adored and loved to spoil her son, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was survived by her son, Robert "Robbie" Michael Mitchell; two sisters, Jennifer Field and Jerry of Masontown, WV and Erin Dye and Richie of Mt. Lookout, WV; two nieces, Ceara Peddicord and Tyler and Cheyenne Parker and Jake; two, nephews, Austin Dye and Katie and Joshua Field; a great niece on the way; three aunts, Sharon Hall and Ron, Patty Marsh and Rick and Barbara Smith and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard J. and Esther Mitchell and Clarence "Cotton" and Willa Bessie Westfall and several aunts and uncles. Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV will be providing cremation services. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
