Obituary of Ruth Yvonne Severa

Ruth Yvonne Sevara, 77, of Masontown, WV, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Stonerise of Kingwood. She was born in Elkins, WV on May 18, 1944, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Reams) Phillips. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and camping. Ruth loved all animals. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Abernathy of Masontown and Tammy Savage and husband Mark of Kingwood; five grandchildren, Sarah Savage of Fairmont, Joshua Abernathy and wife Mindy of AK, Dana Walter-Shock and husband Allen of MD, Joseph Walter and wife Kimberly of CA and Tammy Dunkin and husband Joshua of PA; seven great grandchildren, Leah and Malachi Abernathy, Thomas, William and Zack Smith and Alex Dunkin and Kaylee Bruner Yapled; and a son in law, Thomas Bruner of North Carolina. In addition to her husband, Richard Sevara, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Bonnie Yvonne Knotts and Christina Elizabeth Bruner; and two grandchildren, Jessica Smith and Robert Bruner and stepfather, Ted Phillips. To honor Ruth's wishes cremation services were provided by Field Funeral Home of Masontown. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
