Obituary of Rosemary Pearl Ridgway
Rosemary Pearl Ridgway, 84, of Masontown, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation in Morgantown surrounded by her sons.
Rosemary was born in Middlesex, England, on September 17, 1937, a daughter of the late Frederick John Punter and Emily Rebecca (Giffiths) Punter.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Rosemary was a lifelong member of the Masontown Baptist Church where she served as a trustee and was actively involved in the Baptist Youth Fellowship. She was a leader for local Cub Scout and Girl Scout groups. Rosemary was famously known for her sandwiches at Hero Hut. For many years, she was a dispatcher for the Valley Ambulance and volunteered with the Habitat for Humanity. Rosemary loved her flowers, for which she won many blue ribbons at the Preston County Buckwheat Festival. She was an avid reader and a WVU fan. Rosemary was always very generous, allowing the community to fish in her pond, and regularly hosting charitable yard sales and fundraisers.
She is survived by her four sons, Charles "Chuckie" R. Ridgway, Jr. and wife Margie of San Angelo, TX, William F. "Bill" Ridgway of Masontown, WV, Leonard "Leo" Sinclair and wife Stephanie of Morgantown, WV and John Sinclair and wife Samantha of Reedsville, WV; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. "Bud" Ridgway, Sr; her companion, Albert L. Sinclair and one brother, William Punter.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 2 - 4 and 6 – 8 pm and Saturday, January 15, 2022, from noon until the 1 pm service time with Pastor William Winston officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden in Kingwood.
Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, and ask that all guests whose health allows are to wear a mask.
