Obituary of Helen Constance Lawrence

Helen C. Lawrence, 95, of Masontown, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.

Helen was born in Grafton, WV, on August 1, 1926, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Roach) Knight.

She was a loving wife and mother. She was employed as a Medical Receptionist for Dr. C. Truman Thompson until her retirement. She was a member of St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown where she served as a lector and was a member of the Alter Society.

Helen is survived by her son, Stephen Lawrence and companion Sharon Shaffer of Masontown; her feline friend, Elvira and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Guido Lawrence in 1973; daughter in law, Linda Kay Lawrence; two brothers, Robert "Bud" Knight and Raymond Knight and four sisters, Mary Alice Knight, Mary Hart, Martha Basinger and Ruth Johns.

Family and friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, from 4 - 8pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 with the scripture prayer service at 7:30 pm. A funeral liturgy outside of mass will be celebrated at the funeral home at 10 am, Thursday, May 25, 2022 with Fr. Charles McGinnis as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Masontown Cemetery.
