Notes: Charles Arthur Beltz, 74, of Arthurdale, WV stepped into eternity on September 26, 2006.
Mr. Beltz was born on January 16, 1932 in Benton, Illinois, a son of the late Charles and Naomi Beltz.
With pride Chuck served with the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1973 retiring at the rank of T/Sgt. While he was stationed in Lincoln, NE, 1955-1966, he started up his own business with Phillips 66 gas station and car clean up which helped to employ several of the other airmen, but he still found the time to lead up his sons cub scout troop teaching boys to grow up to be good Christian young men and future leaders in their community. After serving with the Air Force he continued to serve as police in Reedsville and Newburg during which time he attended the police academy in Charleston. He served 16 years as chief of security at Camp Dawson. Most recently Sgt. Beltz served as a Chaplin for the Preston County VFW Honor Gaurd. You could say he was a man who felt at home in a uniform serving his country.
Mr. Beltz was also a leading force in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kingwood, WV. He regularly brought the Sabbath Day Bible Study and helped get the church on record as a charter member. A man who felt strongly about his God, his country and his family, loving each equally, giving attention to the special relationship that he shared with each member.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou Myers Beltz, to whom he married September 24, 1951; one son, Steven Charles Beltz of San Jose, CA; one daughter, Lou Ann Beltz Parks of Morganton, NC; two sisters, Lillian Beltz Early of Morganton, NC and Carol Sue Beltz Cross of West Branch, MI; two brothers, Texal Beltz of Arthurdale, and Donald Beltz of Waterford, MI; and two granddaughters, Amanda Parks of Morganton, NC and Ricardo (Ricci) Parks of Arthurdale.
