Obituary of Gene Dillsworth

Gene Dillsworth Jr., 48, of Bretz WV, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at home with family by his side.

He was born in Morgantown on August 1, 1974, a son of the late Eugene "Gene" Sr. and Deborah (Uphold) Dillsworth.

He graduated from Preston High in 1992. Gene was a loving husband, father, son, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially "Pappy's Girl" Emberly. He also enjoyed carpentry, and building things.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Ann (Rehe) Dillsworth; two daughters, Brianne Dillsworth and fiancé Frank Moreland (whom he thought of like a son), of Masontown and Chelsie Dillsworth, of Bretz; two brothers, Joshua Dillsworth and wife Whitney, of Albright and Eric Dillsworth and wife Sommer, of Summersville, WV; two sisters, Tara Cozad and husband Ken and Kayla Hess and husband Robert, all of Kingwood; one granddaughter, Emberly Moreland and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; five aunts and three uncles.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 10:00 am until the 11:00 time of service with Pastor Jim Carder officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Reedsville.
