Obituary of Iven Dale Teets Sr

Iven Dale Teets, Sr., 78, of Masontown, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, with his family by his side at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown. He was born in Preston County on February 25, 1945, a son of the late Prentis and Elda (Liston) Teets. Iven was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was employed as a coal miner for 27 years and retired from Humphry #7 Mine. Iven enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Ellen (Hussing) Teets; one son, Ivan Dale Teets, Jr. and wife Linda; one daughter, Pamela Wilson; three grandchildren, Stacey Teets, Chris Wilson and wife Sarah, and Cody Wilson; two great grandchildren, Sophia and Benny; one brother, Larry Teets and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to nephew, Marvin Teets and his family for being by Iven's side. Iven was preceded in death by three brothers, Willard "Butch" Teets, Marvin P. Teets and Everett Teets. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 11:00 am time of service. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Garden in Kingwood, WV.
