Obituary of Elnora Groves

Elnora Merle Groves Viewing times: Monday, February 13 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Funeral time: 1:00 pm at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Burial location: Pleasant Grove Cemetery Notes: Elnora Merle Cale Groves, 82, of Kingwood, went to be with her lord and savior, on Friday, February 10, 2006, at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was born April 17, 1923 , in Masontown, WV, a daughter of the late Hobart and Gertie Radabaugh Cale. Merle worked along side her husband, Warren, whom she so dearly loved and was devoted to, on their farm and his coal mining business. She was active in the Valley District Senior Citizens until Warrens death in 1994. She was also a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Herring, WV. She leaves behind four children she dearly loved. Two daughters and spouses, Bonnie K. and Marvin Taylor of Gladesville and Betty Elaine and Gerald Smith of Masontown ;Two sons and spouses; Donald R. and Beckie Groves of Kingwood, Marvin L. and Judy Groves of Kingwood; eight grandchildren, Franklin Petak, Teresa Ambrosio, Chandel Hawley, Daphne Helmich, Tiffany Groves, Vicki, Jennifer and Justin Groves; 6 great grandchildren; three sisters, Tessie Gamble, Margaret Howard and Hilda Chaplow; Also her special caregiver, Virginia Mann, whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Warren Clyde Groves on May 25, 1994; four brothers, Arthur, Glenn, Thurman and Delmar Cale; a sister, Thelma Taylor and 2 infants. Friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Monday, February 13, 2006 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm and Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from 12 noon until the 1pm service time with Rev. Joe Lamm and Pastor A.C.Mann officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Herring, WV.
