Obituary of Bernice Marie Gibson

Bernice Marie Gibson, 92, of Masontown, WV, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Kingwood Healthcare Center, Kingwood, WV.

Bernice is the daughter of the late Clifford Earl and Mary Marie Shaffer Savage, she was born June 5, 1931, in Morgantown, WV.
 

Bernice was raised Methodist. She loved to play bingo and watch any type of sports, especially LeBron James. She was a member of the Masontown Women’s Club for many years.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother as well as an avid animal lover.

To her family and the community she was a great friend. 

Bernice is survived by two daughters: Karen and Art Centofanti of Masontown, WV and Kimberly and Kelly Robinette of Charleston, WV, granddaughter, Lindsay and Colin Wattleworth of Highlands Ranch, CO, two great-grandchildren Hayes and Finley Wattleworth and several nieces and nephews.
   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son Kevin Soccorsi, her husband Delmer P. Gibson, Sr., a brother Clifford and his wife Carolyn Savage, three sisters: Lucille Dalton, Iretta and her husband James Luzier, and Wanda and her husband Dick Ackerman.
    

Family and friends will be received at Field Funeral Home on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 5pm-8pm and on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 10am-11am. Services will begin at 11am with Rev. David Spence officiating. Burial will follow in the Masontown Cemetery.
    

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Preston County Animal Shelter, 278 Poor Farm Road, Kingwood, WV 26573.
