Obituary of Joan Elaine Malcolm
Joan Elaine “Tootsie” Malcolm, 92, of Masontown, went to heaven to be with Jesus and to reunite with her husband, Joseph Malcolm Sr., on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV.
She was born in Newburg, WV, on March 27, 1931, a daughter of the late Earl and Ella Elizabeth (Weaver) Pyles.
Elaine loved to make wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and wedding dresses. She made majorette uniforms too. Elaine was in Mary Kay Cosmetics for 50 years as a Consultant/Director. She won 3 cars including a pink regal, of which she was the proudest. She loved making women beautiful. Elaine was a member of the Masontown Methodist Church where she loved being a teacher of small children and pulling taffy with the youth group. She loved baking cakes and bragging that she carried those cakes in the trunk of her car and that they always made it there safely.
Elaine was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to anyone that would talk to her.
Elaine is leaving behind two daughters, Joyce Ann Ennis and husband Richard and Brenda Wujcik; two sons, Joseph Malcolm Jr. and wife Robin and Brian Malcolm and wife Simmy; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by a son, Eric Dean Malcolm; granddaughter, Megan Goines; sisters, Norma Riley and Vesta Gordon; twin sister, Jean Loraine Pyles; a brother, Gerald Pyles; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Estella Malcolm.
Friends and family will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Field Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Masontown Cemetery.
