Obituary of Mark Edward Readd

Mark Edward Readd, 59, of Masontown, WV, peacefully passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at home. He was born in Winchester, VA on January 13, 1964, a son of the late Charles Earnest Readd and Betty Mae (Gibson) Readd of Masontown. Mark was a loving father, grandfather, son, and companion. He was a 1982 graduate of West Preston High School. Mark worked for many years as a carpet installer for Snyder Floor Covering, Delano's, Rogers, and Rugratz Carpet. He loved the outdoors, especially his camp where he fed and tended to the squirrels and birds. He also enjoyed gardening. In addition to his mother, Mark is survived by his companion, Lori Shaffer; two sons, Matthew Mark Readd and Tyler Craig Readd both of Masontown; two stepdaughters, Kathleen Blon of Morgantown and Jessica Shaffer of Reedsville; one sister, Nancy Trickett and husband Burley of Masontown; one brother, Richard Readd and wife Annjanette of Kingwood; step grandchildren, Trinity Blon and Allena Blon; special aunt, Sue Strahin; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Oleda Strahin. To honor Mark's wishes cremation services are entrusted to the Field Funeral Home in Masontown.
