Obituary of Shirley Jean Barney

Shirley Jean Barney, 70, of Masontown, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Shirley was born in Toledo, OH on July 25, 1951, a daughter of Thomas Herbert Barney and the late Melba Mae (Thomas) Barney.

She worked for they Wynford School District as a librarian and as a medical lab technician, phlebotomist, and in the medical records department. She loved her family and animals. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, and canning. Shirley also loved to ride motorcycle.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Cindi Evans and husband Edward of Wurtland, KY; one grandson, Justin Evans of Wurtland, KY; her companion, Randy McKinney of Masontown; one brother, Thomas Barney Jr. and wife Vicki of Princeton, TX and four sisters, Connie Turner and husband Larry of Grandbury, TX, Debbie Belvins and husband Danny of Greenup, KY, Margie Mann of Wills Point, TX and Brenda Barney of Raceland, KY.

To honor her wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to the Field Funeral Home in Masontown.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
